The Gumpert Apollo, introduced in 2005, was the first hypercar from Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur, founded by Roland Gumpert, a former Audi engineer and creator of the legendary Audi Quattro. Built around a carbon-fibre and Kevlar body weighing just 1,200 kg, it uses an Audi-derived 4.2-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 650 hp (up to 800 hp in Sport guise), reaching 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and over 360 km/h. Roughly 50 examples were built between 2005 and 2012.
