Bentley's coach-built cars come from Mulliner: Bacalar (12 cars, 2020–2021), Batur (18 coupes, 2023–2024), and the upcoming Batur Convertible. Each is commissioned through a year of consultation with the client at Crewe. We trade Mulliner cars between first owners and place new Mulliner commissions on behalf of clients. Mulliner Continental GT, Flying Spur Mulliner, and Bentayga Speed remain in current production with bespoke spec options.
Walter Owen Bentley founded the company in 1919 with one goal: faster Le Mans cars. Five wins (1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930) sealed the marque's sporting reputation. Production paused, restarted under Rolls-Royce in 1931, and ran for sixty years from Crewe before Volkswagen Group bought it in 1998. Modern peaks: the W12-engined Continental GT (2003), Speed Six Continuation, Mulsanne Speed (2010), and Mulliner Coachbuild — Bacalar, Batur, Batur Convertible. The Batur marks the final W12 commission from Bentley.
New commissions take 12 months. Batur Convertible commission slots: open for 2026 delivery.
A meeting at Crewe with the Mulliner team. We arrange it.
Yes. The Batur (coupe + convertible) closes Bentley's W12 era. Future Mulliner cars will use V8 hybrid or pure-electric powertrains.
A new build of the 1929 Le Mans-winning car, made on original tooling. Twelve chassis. Track-only by design.
Most Mulliner cars are road cars. The Bacalar is open-cockpit road, not track-focused.
Authorised partners in Geneva, Dubai, Hong Kong handle most service. For coachwork or Mulliner-specific work, cars travel to Crewe.
